Road Trip: Omaha to Kansas City...and Back

My sister, who lives in Mississippi, traveled to Kansas City in advance of a work conference there. So, living only three hours away, I decided to drive down to Kansas City so that we could spend a day together before her conference was to start. I also decided to leave early so that I could turn the travel portion of my drive into a photography road trip. Unfortunately, the weather decided not to cooperate with my plans, so my "photography" road trip was rather short lived as it rained during 90% of my drive to Kansas City. Still, I managed to get a few shots before the rain set in in earnest. All of these photos were captured in Iowa:

When it was time to leave Kansas City and head back to Omaha, I set out on a race to beat an incoming cold front that promised to bring heavy rain before I could get very far. This time, I was able to capture a few more photos including photos that showed the dramatic sky that appeared shortly after I left Kansas City. All of these photos were captured in Kansas:

While I was given limited time to capture photos going in both directions, I still managed to have fun while making my three hour drive (each way) much more interesting and entertaining! Yaaaay for camera fun!!
