Here We Go Again . . . A New Photography Website!

Being a hobbyist photographer for 30+ years now, I have literally taken thousands upon thousands of photographs since the late 80s when I first delved into photography as a hobby. I have accumulated so many wonderful photographs (along with many, many stinkers!), but I have never found a place to showcase more than a couple of dozen printed photos on a wall in my home. Just over a year ago, I was playing around with the creation of a new photography website using an online service called "Weebly". I posted some of my photos there, but I never really did much more with that site. It didn't permit me, as far as I could determine, to showcase my photos as I wanted. Just recently, I discovered another similar online service called "Wix" which had photography-based templates that would allow me to showcase my photos in a more pleasing and dramatic fashion. So, over the past couple of days, I created my new photography website: The ViewFinder Photography. That name comes from a very basic element of all cameras -- the viewfinder. Before the days of digital camera LED display screens, every camera included a very tiny window atop the camera that allowed you to peek through to see what your composed photo would look like. That tiny window was known as the viewfinder. Since my photography mostly consists of landscape and nature photography, I correlated my "views" of those scenes with my many adventures out seeking to "find" those views; thus, I feel comfortable calling myself a "view finder", and thus we have created "The ViewFinder" Photography. I even incorporated myself into that title as shown in my logo below. See how all that comes together? LOL!

Anyway, my new photography website will hopefully become my primary showcase of my best and most beloved photographs, both old and new. And, if all goes well, I hopefully will be able to add an online retail store to this website in the future which will allow me to sell some of my photos in a variety of printed mediums. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I'm able to add that component down the road. In the meantime, I've got LOTS of learning to do, both in how to properly display my photos online and with how to sell them online to actual paying consumers. Whew! What an exciting adventure to re-embark on! I'm ready!
